1958-2009 | Michael Jackson
A simple text message changed my entire night. Michael Jackson has died of cardiac arrest. I read in disbelief and utter astonishment. The man. The legend. The most influential artist of our time. The King of Pop. The greatest entertainer next to James Brown. The Bad, Dangerous Thriller, whose music was Invincible to the test of time. He moonwalked Off the Wall to the top of the charts and still maintains the best-selling album of all time. HIStory is one we all know and will never forget. This weekend will be dedicated to the little boy from Gary, Indiana who captivated the world with his art, and more importantly, his heart.

The word has spread about the abrupt death of up-and-coming rapper Dolla. According to ew.com Dolla, aka Roderick Anthony Burton II, 21, was shot outside a shopping center in Los Angeles. Sounds like Burton was in the wrong place at the wrong time. It's insane to think he and I are the same age, both pursuing our dreams through different means. Life is truly not promised. More here.
