MESS | Sly Fox
Give me a motherkucfin' break!!!!!!! SERIOUSLY!!!!!!! Obama is as much a racist as Bush was an excellent orator. Between him and Lou Dobbs questioning Obama's birthrite, I'd say we need some immediate dialogue, no holds barred, on Capiol Hill and in the newsroom.
MESS | "Young nigga got it bad cuz i'm brown"
After incredulous speculation from the powers of the Right and all those still upset that a brother is living in the White House, and didn't have to break-in, Barack Hussein Obama is indeed a natrual born citizen of his United States of America. Now since we've proven what we alrady knew as truth, let us allow the president to do his job. Post-racial my BLACK ASS.

Click above for full story. Sounds like everyday shenanigans on the eve of Black in America 2.
411 | "Do the Right Thing" 20 Y.O.
Twenty years have passed since Brooklyn erupted on a hot summer day in Spike Lee's revolutioary look at race. And yet the characters and conversation remain relevant to this day. Even in this alleged post-racial Obama age. Don't believe the hype, and continue to "Fight the Power" in twenty-0-9.
411 | Transformers: Racists in Disguise
I haven't seen Transfomers 2: Revenge of the Fallen, but I can totally agree with what this story is hinting at. Apparently two characters in the sequel have strong resemblances and characteristics one would stereotype as being black. According to the story, the two new twin robots talk in street slang, are illiterate and one flaunts a gold tooth. This may be a startling revelation to some, but its nothing new. Everyone saw the first film in which Jazz, the obvious token of the group, spoke like a hood Barry White; busted in a breakdance early in the movie, and was the ONLY Autobot, I REPEAT the ONLY Autobot, to perish in battle. Hmmm? Doesn't the last scenario sound very similar too several black characers usual demise in Hollywood movies.
411 | Homeless student eyes Harvard
A touching story over @ CNN today of 17-year-old Kenneth Chancey. Chancey is a honor student, athlete, and class president. Despite his academic excellence and hopes to attend Harvard, Chancey his sister and father are homeless. Click title for details.
sidebar: Incredible story of this brother and I commend him on his achievements, but why must we classify "home" as a house with a picket fence. Home is where the heart is. His family has probably struggled to maintain some form of normality; however, it is clear to see that he has triumphed over adversity. Maybe students indifferent to the importance of a quality education should experience life without necessities. Put things in perspective.
8709 Special | History was scary as a kid
Everyone is scared of something when their little. Common fears include the dark, bumps in the night, monsters under the bed, and the dentist. My sister and I shared these experiences as well as a very prominent one: movies about race and history. Now that I am older, I understand these subjects are important documents of the past, forever influencing us to make better futures. But as a kid, i tried my best to stray away from certain TV shows and films to ensure I'd get to sleep that night. I listed my top 5.
In the Heat of the Night (series) - Excellent show based upon the film of a black detective in the South. Perfect mix of pasts demons in a 20th century.
Nightjohn - Yes it was a Disney movie, but when Carl Lumby gets his fingers chopped off for spelling in the sand, it turns into a PSA for reading.
The Ghosts of Mississippi - A remarkable depiciton of the long-awaited trial against the assassin of Medgar Evers. The opening scene was scarring, and James Woods was haunting as the unapologetic shooter.
Roots - Still have yet to watch in entirety. Will do someday.
A Time to Kill - I've conquered this fear recently. Samuel L. Jackson should have an Oscar by now.
Channel Surfin' | I See Black People
Feast your eyes on two new shows featuring lead African American characters other than Tyler Perry's for the fall season. First is the black Family Guy, The Cleveland Show.
411 | Justice for Grant
The former transit officer charged with killing Oscar Grant on New's Year's Eve will be facing a murder trial. A judge has ruled sufficent evidence to charge Johannes Mehserle with first-degree murder for the videotaped shooting of Grant in a subway transit. Mehserle allegedly mistook his gun for his Taser as he shot point blank in a restrained Grant's back. The footage circulated YouTube within days of occuring, sparking outrage nationwide with riots in Oakland. More @ CNN.
411 | Black In America 2
CNN's ground-breaking investigative report returns to answer the question: Now that we see what hinders us, what are we doing about it. Soledad O'Brien hosts Black in America 2 in efforts to showcase how African-Americans across the nation are improving the status of black life. The first special was quite informative and revealed truths from behind myhts and legends of living in this skin I we're in. These may not have been new to us, but just like Roots did inthe 70s, it allowed the opportunity for dialogue with others outside of our commmunities. Be sure to mark your calendars and set the DVRs for July 22nd & 23rd. This is history in the making. Bonus: Stay tuned for Latino In America in October.
